Frequently Asked Questions

Answering the most common questions asked about Argyle Family Counseling!

  • We are private pay providers and do not directly bill insurance for treatment. Some benefits of paying privately include more privacy and more control in our work together. However, we’ve found that many insurance companies will cover our services as out-of-network providers. If you have a PPO, we can provide a “super bill” that you could submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. A super bill is a detailed record of payment with special codes for what kind of service was provided along with our license number. We recommend calling your insurance to find out what reimbursement will look like for an out-of-network provider, as reimbursement is not always guaranteed. If you’re hoping to find an in-network provider, Good Therapy or Psychology Today are helpful directories.

  • Please refer to each individual clinicians bio page to review rates and services.

  • We accept debit cards, credit cards, cash, HSA and FSA cards. A credit card is required on file to hold the appointment for a client.

  • The client is expected to attend each scheduled session on time. A cancelled or delayed appointment delays our work and can negatively impact other clients. Since your appointments involve the reservation of time specifically for you, and out of respect for your therapist and our other clients, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. When an appointment is not cancelled within 24 hours or missed without advance notice, the client will be billed the FULL SESSION FEE. This fee is for missed appointments, as well as appointments canceled with less than 24-hour notice.

A late cancel or no-show appointment hurts at least three people: you, your therapist, and another client who could have potentially utilized your time slot. Therapy sessions are scheduled in advance and are a time reserved exclusively for our clients. When a session is cancellc ed without adequate notice, we are unable to fill this time slot by offering it to another current client, a client on the waitlist, or a client with a clinical emergency.

  • Each person is unique and we strive to meet our clients where they are while developing a treatment plan to best meet their needs and goals. Upon the initial intake session, we will begin to develop rapport and curate a treatment plan together to determine an appropriate timeline of services.

  • Information shared by clients with counselors is considered private and confidential. What is discussed in session remains private with certain exceptions limited under Texas law and professional codes of ethics. It is important that you are aware of the exceptions to confidentiality so that you understand Argyle Family Counseling’s obligation to report certain information shared. These exceptions may include the following:

Suspect child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

    • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

    • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

    • If a court of law issues a legitimate subpoena for information stated on the subpoena.
