Sherry Allen, MEd, MA, LPC, EMDR

Hi, I am Sherry! You have found your way to a place of healing and support. I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Seeking counseling is a brave and powerful choice. I have experienced effective counseling grounded in heartfelt support, encouragement, and guidance. My health journey was shaped greatly through the guidance of a qualified and compassionate therapist. This positive experience led me to a counseling career following 32 years as an educator. My years as an educator provided a wealth of experience working with children, parents, and families.

Now as a therapist, I am able to provide support, guidance, and counsel that is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy techniques. Although stories may be different in the details, we share this in common, our past and present life experiences affect us. Sometimes, we move through those waves gently. Sometimes, we get stuck. Other times, we get lost. You are here at this moment for reasons that matter to you. I have a heart for helping and a desire to foster hope in those struggling through life situations. As a counselor for children, adolescents, adults, and families, I have the honor of seeing growth and healing across the lifespan. It is my passion to meet people as they are and wherever they are in their life circumstances.

I believe healing is not only possible, it is productive, powerful and remarkable! I passionately believe you matter. Your story matters. You are created to live as your healthiest self. I am honored to walk alongside you in your journey.

I am passionate that the goals and plan developed for your time in counseling be purposeful and productive.

An amazing and cuddly addition to my practice is my therapy dog, Cooper.

Seeking counseling is a brave and powerful choice. Each client is genuinely welcomed into the process of counseling and does not have to walk through experiences alone. I work collaboratively with each client to develop goals and plans that are attainable, productive, and worthwhile. Counseling is a powerful experience that can help us understand, cope, and move forward in ways that positively benefit us individually and in our relationships. I am passionate to guide others in experiencing help, hope and healing from hurts so that an abundant, purposeful and full life can be experienced.

I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

What Clients Are Saying…

  • “I was not raised in a home that seeks out help of any kind. We just punch through. That changed when our son needed help in ways beyond our ability, which introduced us to Sherry. She helped our family in many ways we never knew we needed. EMDR therapy personally to finally live into who God created me to be. I was able to shed the false self that told me nothing but lies. I am now finishing my bachelor’s degree. Something I never thought I could do before counseling. Sherry is a treasured gift to me and our family”

  • “My daughter loves Ms. Sherry days! But she didn’t start out that way- in 2nd grade, she came to Ms. Sherry full of caution. She had struggled with a bully at school and had begun responding to normal situations in anger, and couldn’t express why. Sherry lovingly and gently gave her space to play, tell stories, and process. Sherry did this with great patience. She helped me as a mom know what to do to best support my daughter toward healthy choices, confidence, and clear boundaries at school. My daughter learned loads about the brain and how our thinkers and feelers work together. She still asks to visit Ms. Sherryjust to catch up- what a gift it is to know someone that is as much for my daughter’s healing as I am.”
